Building and Impacting Lives Through Agape

In the heart of Africa, where challenges often overshadow dreams, Zoe Choosers Initiative emerges as a beacon of hope, determined to reshape destinies. Too often, single and pregnant women face the agonizing dilemma of choosing abortion due to financial constraints. (The statistics tell a stark story: 73% of women with unplanned pregnancy choose abortion due to financial constraints) Under these circumstances there is no way abortion can be called a “choice”. The Guttmacher Institute emphasized in the aftermath of their research that women who undergo abortion often feel constrained by limited resources and existing responsibilities to others. It is inappropriate to label their decision as a “choice” when poverty and the inability to afford childcare are the driving factors behind their need to seek abortion.

In the face of this reality, Zoe Choosers steps in with a resounding message — financial reasons
should never be the barrier to embracing the miracle of life. In a world where unexpected turns can define a woman’s journey, Zoe Choosers emerges as a beacon of empowerment and transformation. Our existence is rooted in the understanding that
unplanned pregnancies often intersect with financial hurdles, social pressures, and a lack of comprehensive support. We stand as advocates for change, addressing the gaps that challenge the well-being of both mothers and their unborn babies. We are forging a path towards a world where every woman feels empowered to choose life and pursue her dreams, regardless of the circumstances.

During the years 2021 to 2023, Zoe Choosers Initiative remained steadfast in our commitment
to empowering women and promoting life-affirming choices, with a particular focus on our sex
education outreach efforts. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we
adapted our strategies to continue reaching students and communities in need. Here are the
key highlights of our impact during this period:
● Sexeducate Outreach: Despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic, Zoe Choosers
Initiative was able to conduct sex education outreaches that reached over 4,000
students. Through virtual sessions, webinars, and online resources, we provided
valuable information on reproductive health, pregnancy prevention, and informed
decision-making to young people across Nigeria.
● Adaptability Amidst Challenges: Recognizing the importance of our mission, we
remained agile and adaptable in the face of COVID-19 restrictions. By leveraging
technology and innovative approaches, we ensured that our message of empowerment
and support continued to reach those who needed it most, despite the limitations on
in-person engagements.

As we look ahead to the year 2024, Zoe Choosers Initiative is poised to make an even greater
impact in the lives of women and communities across Nigeria. Building on the successes and
lessons learned from previous years, we are excited to announce the launch of our Pregnancy
Resource Centre. This new initiative will serve as a hub for comprehensive support services,
including counseling, education, material assistance, and community outreach, aimed at
empowering our blooms and fostering a culture of love and support.
As we embark on this new chapter in our journey, we are grateful for the support of our partners,
volunteers, and supporters who continue to make our work possible. Together, we are
committed to creating a future where every woman feels empowered, supported, and valued,
regardless of her circumstances.

Facing an unexpected pregnancy can feel overwhelming. It's okay to feel uncertain, scared, or alone. We understand those feelings because we've been there too – and we're here to offer our help.
